Give Your Money for Those Who've Never
Heard
Mike Ryan of Global Mission has made us aware that 99.98% of tithes
and offerings is spent on work that largely benefits the church
members who give or in areas where our work is already established.
Basically We tithe to ourselves! Only 0.02 percent
is spent on the unreached. This does not reflect God's heart!
We are wrong. Our giving must change to reflect God's priority
the lost sheep.
"You can't take it with you, but you can send it on ahead," Oswald
J. Smith. How? Jesus said, "Make friends for yourselves by means
of unrighteous money, so that when it fails they may receive you
into the eternal habitations" Luke 16:9. Lay up treasures in
heaven by letting your treasures be spent to save the treasures
God wants in heaven the peoples of this world.
Maybe you're saying, "I can't go. Someone's got to work or there
wouldn't be offerings!" Fine, then ask yourself, "How many missionaries
are working for me?"
Missionaries Salaried by You
National Church Planters
For between $35-$70 a month (2 pizzas and a tank of gas) you can
send a Global Mission Pioneer, a national missionary, to an unentered
part of his or her country.
They know the language and the culture already. They are used to
living conditions. Think how you can multiply yourself by using
funds to support them! Within two to three years these pioneers
can raise up a new congregation.
Global Missions networks with divisions, unions and missions to
train, equip and mobilize these national workers. For more information
call 1-800-648-5824 or www.global-mission.org
or mark your tithe envelopes "Global Mission Pioneers."
Gospel Outreach (GO), a supporting ministry, does a similar work.
Call (509) 525-2951. www.tagnet.org/go/
highlights the countries they work in with stories included.
Expatriate Church Planters
Church planters from the U.S.A. and other countries are still needed
in areas where there aren't national Seventh-day Adventists or where
the prejudices between the majority ethnic group and the unreached
minorities are very strong, making it difficult for national workers
to be effective.
Adventist Frontier Missions, AFM, sends missionaries to plant new
churches only among people groups that have no Seventh-day Adventist
presence and usually no Christian presence.
They are truly doing pioneer work among the unreached, funded only
by donations. Each missionary must raise his or her support.
You, together with your friends and church, can share the gospel
with those who've never heard by financially partnering with such
a pioneer church planter. For more information call 1-800-YES-4AFM
or www.afmonline.org.
Be a Mission Offering Advocate at Your Church
- Highlight the needs of the unreached and the low amount
given to them.
- Tell them how much you could all give if you each gave a
dollar a day.
- Revitalize birthday and anniversary thank-offerings by providing
specific projects to give to.
- If your church is doing a building project, vote to give
a tithe of what you spend on yourself for the building of churches
or schools in less wealthy or unreached countries.
- Encourage investment projects, motivating people to start
little businesses or projects with all the proceeds going to missions.
